Working with Drupal

We chose to build the AfriClad’s new website using the Drupal content management system.

Drupal is an open source platform consisting of over 18 000 pre-configured themes and modules. We were able to select the components we felt were most appropriate for our requirements. Rogerwilco, our web developers, were then able to customize them and style them to create the new AfriClad website.

We chose to use Drupal for a number of reasons. We liked the fact that so many other companies have chosen Drupal (millions around the world and thousands in South Africa), and we love the idea that as our business requirements evolve, we’ll be able to add new functionality without having to rebuild the site.

The fact that there’s a huge community of people who are able to support Drupal is also reassuring.

More to the point, however, is the virtue of the very practical Drupal content management system. It’s now incredibly easy for us to update information. The standard WYSIWYG editor means that no knowledge of HTML or computer code is necessary to add articles, change product descriptions or load photos of new projects.
